Our Guarantee

Jacques Torres Chocolate guarantees that you will be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you are unsatisfied - for any reason - simply return your order within 48 hours of product delivery. We guarantee the quality and freshness of our products for three weeks from the time they leave our shop in Brooklyn, so long as they are handled and stored as recommended by the materials that accompany each shipment.

All claims must be accompanied by an explanation of the problem as well as your contact information. Please send the package to Kris at Jacques Torres Chocolate, 66 Water Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201. After an analysis of the situation, Jacques Torres Chocolate at its own discretion will determine the appropriate remedy, including a refund of payment or a reshipment of product.


Holiday Ordering Deadlines

Please remember: orders are not shipped the same day they are placed. Please allow 48 hours for us to process your order.

Christmas (2005)
Orders must be placed by December 20th no later than 8AM EST in order to guarantee delivery on or by Friday, December 23.

Orders will be shipped according to the following schedule:
Orders requesting 2nd Day Service are shipped on December 19, 20 & 21
Orders requesting Overnight Service are shipped on December 19, 20, 21, & 22

**Saturday delivery is available for most residential locations. Saturday delivery orders are only shipped on Friday, Dec. 23 via Next Day Air Priority service and incur a cost of about $12 in addition to the regular shipping costs. Telephone for this option.

Valentine's Day (2006)
Orders must be placed by February 7 or 89 (depending on ship method*) no later than 8AM EST in order to guarantee delivery on or by Friday, February 10.

Orders placed after 8:00 am EST February 8 requesting 2-day shipping will ship Monday, February 13 for delivery on Feb 15.

Orders will be shipped according to the following schedule:
Orders requesting 2nd Day Service are shipped on February 6, 7, 8 if the order is placed before 8:00 am EST Feb 8.
Orders requesting Overnight Service are shipped on February 6, 7, 8, 9 and 13

**Saturday delivery is available for most residential locations. Saturday delivery orders are only shipped on Friday, Feb. 11 via Next Day Air Priority service and incur a cost of about $12 in addition to the regular shipping costs. Telephone for this option.

***We do not ship over the weekends so Monday delivery is NOT available.

Easter (2006)
Orders must be placed by April 11 no later than 8AM EST for the Easter Bunny to guarantee delivery on or by Friday, April 14th

Orders will be shipped according to the following schedule:
Orders requesting 2nd Day Service are shipped on April 10, 11, 12.
Orders requesting Overnight Service are shipped on April 10, 11, 12 and 13.

**Saturday delivery is available for most residential locations. Saturday delivery orders are only shipped on Friday, April 14 via Next Day Air Priority service and incur a cost of about $12.00 in addition to the regular shipping costs. Please telephone for this option.

Mother's Day (2006)
Orders must be placed by May 3th no later than 8AM EST for guaranteed delivery on or by Friday, May 5. For Saturday delivery requests, please telephone 718/875-9772.

Thanksgiving (2006)

***No orders will be shipped between November 22 and 27. If you chose November 24 as the ship by date, your package will ship on Monday, November 27 with delivery on Tuesday (if Next Day shipping) or Wednesday (if 2-day shipping). Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, you should telephone us re: your order if this does not meet with your approval.


Availability of Products
This website lists all of the products that generally are available on-line from Jacques Torres Chocolate. From time to time products may be out of stock or otherwise unavailable. We will attempt to notify you by email within two (2) business days of the ship date if such case arises. If we are not able to contact you, we will adjust the billing as appropriate.

Gift items contained in each gift collection are subject to availability. Jacques Torres Chocolate reserves the right to substitute gift item components appearing on the website for items of equal or greater value thereto at no additional cost to the purchaser.


Special Handing

All orders are shipped "signature required" unless otherwise noted. This means the recipient must be available to sign for the package at delivery. If the recipient is not home at time of delivery or if you choose "signature release" as an option when placing your order, we are not responsible if the package is lost, stolen , melted or otherwise damaged.

Due to the perishable nature of our chocolates, we take special care to ensure the delivery of your chocolates in perfect condition. Each package comes surrounded by packing materials and a personalized gift message. We pack each box with special insulation and gel ice as needed when temperatures are above 70 degrees. If the destination city's temperature is more than 70 degrees AND you are sending to someone other than yourself, we will upgrade the shipment to Federal Express Priority Overnight and the new rate will be reflected in your bill. If the destination city's temperature is more than 70 degrees and you have chosen to send to yourself via 2nd Day Air, we are not responsible if the chocolates arrive melted and will not offer any refund. All orders will require a signature upon delivery unless otherwise noted. We are not responsible if the recipient is not home to sign for the package.


Forms of Payment

We accept only Visa, Mastercard and American Express. All credit cards must have a United States billing address. We do not accept personal checks.


Sales Tax

Local and state sales tax is charged on orders shipped to addresses in the state of New York.


Shipping

Jacques Torres Chocolate offers year-round shipping to our customers. Shipping rates are determined by the weight of the order and the distance of the shipment. We ship exclusively with Fedex and transit times vary depending on destination. Overnight delivery is available Monday-Thursday. Fedex 2-Day delivery is available only Monday-Wednesday (If you require a Saturday delivery, please telephone us. Saturday delivery rates will apply). All orders are shipped "signature required" which means the recipient must be available to sign for the package at delivery. If you choose the Signature Release option, it means you want Fedex to leave the pacakge without obtaining a signature. Neither Fedex or Jacques Torres Chocolate will be responsible if the the package is lost or stolen after delivery when you have requested this option.

Internet orders are processed at 8:00 am according to the above referenced shipping schedule. If you are placing your order after 8:00 am, it will be shipped the following day according to the shipping schedule. Orders are not shipped on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. The shipment schedule is based on the date your order is received. You will receive email confirmation when your order is shipped.

We do not ship to international destinations. Please note that we cannot ship to P.O. Boxes. You must provide a street address for your order. We are not responsible for delays caused by Federal Express due to weather or mechanical error and are not able to offer refunds for those reasons.

Restrictions

Please note that we cannot ship to P.O. Boxes. You must provide a street address for your order. Be sure to include the appropriate suite or apartment numbers when necessary to ensure proper delivery. We will not be responsible for delays caused by events beyond our control including strikes, natural disasters or weather emergencies.

Also, please make sure to double check your responses to our various website prompts. We want to make sure that we are able to accurately process your order. The details of your name, billing address, shipping address and mode of payment are critical. We cannot be responsible for errors in information that is provided to us. Costs resulting from such errors will be charged to you.
